Report on the successful conduct of National Online CME titled
‘Journey of Anatomical Gift: Procurement to Ultimate Utilisation’
Introduction:
Department of Anatomy and Forensic medicine & Toxicology hosted a national online CME on 4th & 5th July 2025 which covered various aspects related to Cadaver procurement, Voluntary whole-body donation, Embalming, Bone retrieval, Plastination & Cryopreservation. This report presents an overview of the CME, its objectives, activities, and its educational impact on participants.
CME Overview:
The national online CME was conducted for two days (Forenoon sessions) at JIPMER, Karaikal Campus. The online CME was led by experts in this field, ensuring high-quality instruction and guidance. The CME included interactive lectures and Panel discussions.
The event was attended by 252 participants which includes the Faculty, Senior residents, Post graduates & Technicians from all over India. The event was also attended by 1st year MBBS students of JIPMER, Karaikal.
Inauguration program:

The event was graced by the presence of
Chief Guest: Dr Kannaki S, Medical Superintendent, GGH, Karaikal
Guest of Honour: Mr. S Mouttousivame, Ex MES, AIMS, BGL, Executive Engineer, Karaikal Municipality.
The program paid tribute to body donor registrants and celebrated the winners of the district-level poster painting and slogan writing competitions on “Voluntary Whole-Body Donation,” promoting awareness and encouraging participation in this noble cause.

The event was conducted under the esteemed leadership of our Director, Dr Vir Singh Negi & Dean of the Karaikal campus, Dr Kusa Kumar Shaha, who provided invaluable guidance and support throughout the planning and execution stages.

Objectives:

Conclusion:
Our national online CME was a huge success, with over 300 participants, gaining positive feedback for its engaging topics, insightful lectures, and thought-provoking panel discussions.
