World Glaucoma Week is observed in the Second week of March every year to create awareness about the disease. This year “World Glaucoma week” was celebrated between March 9th to 15th 2025. To commemorate this event, a number of activities were conducted by the Department of Ophthalmology, JIPMER- Karaikal.
- Awareness talks on Glaucoma in Mother Teresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences, Karaikal and Avvaiyar Government Women’s College, Karaikal
- Screening of patients and healthcare workers for glaucoma in selected PHCs of Karaikal
- Glaucoma Awareness talk in Karaikal All India Radio.
- Screening for faculties and staff of JIPMER Karaikal (will continue in the month of March)
- Poster Competition for MBBS students on Glaucoma awareness.
