General

A 55-year-old female from Nedungadu commune visited the Orthopaedic outpatient department, where an initial clinical examination was conducted, followed by X-ray and MRI scans. The diagnosis revealed complete arthritis in her left hip joint, necessitating a total hip replacement surgery. The condition of the hip joint was so severe that it appeared like a pestle and mortar, indicating no functionality of the left hip joint. The patient’s condition was most likely caused by skeletal tuberculosis (TB), which commonly affects the spine and, in some cases, the hip bones. We have successfully performed the total hip replacement surgery on 31st July 2024.
