The Central Library, JIPMER Karaikal was established in the year 2016 at the APJ Abdul Kalam campus, JIPMER Karaikal. At present Central Library is located at the ground floor of the new academic campus.

The Working Hours of the Central Library is from 9 AM to 12 AM, and it is open round the year except for national holidays

Issue Section
The issue section has 769 books as on 31.07.2024 and are displayed in 36 shelves for issue to the eligible members of the Library
Reference Section
The reference section has 506 books as on 31.07.2024 and are arranged in 24 shelves which are available for reference to the eligible members of the Library.
Book bank
The book bank section has 291 books and are arranged in 12 shelves which are available to issue to the eligible members (SC/ST students) of the Library.
Conference Alert service
Forthcoming conferences, seminars, workshops & competition pamphlets & circulars are displayed in the notice board of the Central Library for the information of the users.
Question Paper Collection
The Central Library has previous years question papers for U.G. & P.G. courses for reference of the users of the Library. It is maintained by the Stenographer of the Central Library.
Internet services
Internet facility is available free of cost to the users during the working hours.

The Central Library, JIPMER karaikal have access to all the digital content available at The Central library JIPMER Puducherry which includes various e books, e journals, softwares like uptodate, MYLOFT, Clinical key etc
